We hosted the 2nd annual tree trimming party at the Sparkle Lounge last weekend.  The house was filled again with lovely people, tasty  cocktails, and fantastic food.  My friend took me shopping for a new tree, and then helped me set it up a last weekend.  (BTW, those new pre-lit trees are super-easy to set up….the electrical contacts are all in the trunk.)  The stockings were hung on the bookcase with care.  Sarah (who has given permission to be named) came over and helped with the decorating.  The house looked beautiful, but I have a feeling I’ll be cursing the day I let her decorate with glitter  in my house for a long, long time.  Several people (who have not granted permission to be named) worked on the food, which was unbelievably delish.  I was repeatedly asked, “Where did you get this food?”  (Answer:  the kitchen?  Seriously, the chefs outdid themselves this year.  Thank you all!  And a special thank you to the moms, who brought me cookies!)  There were a couple of premade cocktails at the ready (read all about them here), which worked out nicely.  And, as always, the crowd was interesting and funny and a delight to be with.  Thanks, everyone, for coming, for bringing food, for decorating the tree….this is still a wonderful way to kick off the holiday season.
