Cocktail Nation

I’m not a fan of the phrase “It’s 5:00 somewhere!”  Maybe because I’m not a Jimmy Buffet fan.  Maybe because I think those kind of justifications are silly.  Maybe because, well,  I don’t know why else.  But 2011 is definitely proving to be the year of the cocktail.  You’ll notice that most of these are vodka-based.  I’m a big fan of vodkas of all types.  (And have been unjustly accused of leading others down the garden path.…)

Here’re are some of the cocktails that we’ve sampled, or developed, or conjured up….and then drank.  Many thanks to my co-conspirators, partners-in-crime, and fellow mixologists—it wouldn’t be nearly as much fun without you!

 The Fanta (Pleasantville, NJ.  Jan. 2011).  Three Olives Rangtang vodka & tonic.

The Dirty Bastard (Collegeville, PA, Feb. 2011).  Vodka, blackberry brandy, cranberry juice, lime.

The Jerklet (Mt. Airy, Pa, Feb. 2011).  Cucumber vodka, ginger soda, lime juice, fresh basil, cucumber slices.

The French Martini (Hampton, VA, April 2011).  Vodka, Chambord, pineapple juice, splash of lime.

The Mountain Dude (Collegeville,PA, May 2011).  Three Olives Dude vodka with seltzer.

The American Tatanka (Montgomeryville, PA, June 2011)  Zubrowka bison grass vodka (brought back from Poland), Sour Apple Pucker, and Amaretto Disaronno.

The Orange Delight (Jamestown, RI, June 2011).  Svedka Clementine vodka, Polar orange dry soda.

The Itsy Bitsy Teeny Weeny Little Kiwi Appletini (Jamestown, RI, June 2011).  42 Below Kiwi vodka, Stirrings Appletini Mixer.
